Lincoln (Neb.) - Dec. 20, 2001 - Most University of Nebraska-Lincoln offices will be closed Dec. 22 through Jan. 1 during the university's annual holiday shutdown at the end of the fall semester.
University Police will be fully staffed while Facilities, Management and Planning will operate with a reduced staff to monitor buildings and grounds.
The University of Nebraska State Museum and the Sheldon Memorial Art Gallery and Sculpture Garden will be open normal hours, while some other public facilities on campus will be open reduced hours.
Love Library on City Campus will be open 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Dec. 22, 27 and 28, while C.Y. Thompson Library on East Campus will be open noon to 5 p.m. Dec. 26-28. Other branch libraries will be closed.
The Nebraska Union, including the computer lab, University Bookstore and NU Market Convenience Store, will be open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 26-28. The Nebraska East Union will be closed.
The Campus Recreation Center will be open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Dec. 22, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Dec. 23, 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Dec. 27 and 28, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Dec. 29 and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Dec. 30. The East Campus Activities Building will be closed.
During the 11-day break, faculty and staff will use holiday hours from
Presidents Day, Arbor Day, Columbus Day and Veterans Day during which the
university was open and conducting classes in 2001.
