Lincoln (Neb.) - Dec. 20, 2001 - As part of the Rose Bowl festivities, the Nebraska Alumni Association will host three events to fire up Big Red fans for Nebraska's appearance in the Rose Bowl.
A pep rally for NU fans in the Pasadena area will kick off the activities Jan. 1 at the famous Santa Monica Pier. The rally will run from 3 to 5 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
The event will feature the Cornhusker Marching Band, singer Janel Rap, the NU Spirit Squad and other special guests. Runza will be at the site selling its products to give Husker fans a taste of home. Husker fans also will receive a discount on admission to Pacific Park next to the pep rally. The Big Red Bash at Universal Studios will run from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Jan. 2 at the world-famous theme park. Admission is $55 and includes all rides and attractions, Rose Bowl mementos, access to "Huskers Only" areas of the park, and a concert by the Scarlet and Cream Singers. Tickets are limited and can be purchased online at http://www.TicketsWest.com.
The Husker Huddle pre-game party will run from 1 to 4 p.m. Jan. 3 at
Jackie Robinson Stadium just south of the Rose Bowl (game time is 5 p.m.
PST). Admission is $40 for alumni association members and their guests
and $45 for non-members. Reservations are required and must be made by
