Lincoln, Neb., Oct. 3, 2002 -- The Nebraska Alumni Association has partnered with the world's largest corporate career services and outplacement firm to develop an alumni career network.
The association signed a contract with Lee Hecht Harrison's ExecuPlanet to offer a free online service that features a comprehensive collection of job-hunting and career management resources. The program is online at www.huskeralum.com, listed under "career services."
The new and improved career network also is developing a professional online mentoring program with Harris Publishing. Alumni interested in serving as mentors may register online at huskeralum.com or search for fellow Huskers according to job designation.
The online program is geared toward NU alumni in the job market, offering far more opportunities than the Sunday want-ads, said Kristi Routh, career network coordinator.
"This new system ensures that alumni association members have convenient access to the resources of the world's largest, most comprehensive career management company," she said. "It's another way the association is adapting its programs to meet the needs of university alumni and friends."
