Lincoln, Neb., Dec. 17, 2002--The Nebraska Alumni Association will co-host a Husker pre-game event in conjunction with the MainStay Independence Bowl in Shreveport, La., Dec. 27. All Husker fans, friends and alumni are welcome.
The event, part of the Independence Bowl's Red, White and Blue Tailgate Party, will run from noon to 2:30 p.m. at Hirsch Coliseum, 3207 Pershing Blvd., on the Louisiana State Fairgrounds. The venue is just a short walk from the bowl stadium.
The festivities will feature live entertainment, a pep program, a reserved section for Husker fans and the sale of Louisiana cuisine and beverages. A $2 cover charge is payable at the door. Advance reservations are not required.
