MacElhaney Wins National Scholarship from Military Pilots Group

Lincoln, Neb., Nov. 26, 2003 -- University of Nebraska-Lincoln Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps cadet Kevin L. MacElhaney has won the Daedalian Foundation's 2003-2004 Col. Charles W. Getchell national scholarship award.

A total of eight cadets from all ROTC programs in the nation are selected. Each national recipient received an award of $2,000. These awards are presented annually by the Order of Daedalians Foundation, an exclusive fraternal organization of military pilots both retired and active duty. The awards are presented only to those who aspire to join the military and become pilots themselves.

MacElhaney, a senior business administration major from Lincoln, plans to graduate in May and report to pilot training.
