UNL TO HOST UNITED NATIONS EXPERT THIS WEEK

Lincoln (Neb.) - Sept. 23, 1997 - An international expert on the United Nations, international security and humanitarian crises will deliver a public lecture and meet with campus groups this week at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Tom Weiss, professor and associate director of the Watson Institute of International Affairs at Brown University, will present "Moral Choice in Humanitarian Crises: Bosnia et al. Revisited" at 3:30 p.m. Sept. 24 in 538 Oldfather Hall. The lecture is free and open to the public.

Weiss has cowritten "The United Nations and Changing World Politics" and "Mercy Under Fire: War and the Global Humanitarian Community."

While on campus, Weiss also will speak about international peacekeeping to history and political science students.
