Lincoln (Neb.) - Sept. 29, 1997 - Price Hicks, director of education programs and services for the Television Academy of Arts and Sciences, will visit the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Oct. 3.
Hicks will speak to College of Journalism and Mass Communications students and the public from 1:30-3 p.m. in the Avery Hall Auditorium on City Campus. During the day she also will meet with students and faculty for internships and employment opportunities in television and film.
Hicks has been with the academy since 1985. She administers two national programs for college students, the Student Internship Program and the College Television Awards. She also runs the annual faculty seminar for college professors of film, television and communication arts.
Prior to joining the academy, Hicks was a producer for KCET
Community Television for Southern California for 14 years. She
produced several long-running news and public affairs series and
was awarded four Emmys, a Golden Mike, and special recognition
from the City of Los Angeles and American Women in Radio and
Television.
