The NCV Flow Cytometry Core Facility provides flow cytometry services to members of the Nebraska Center for Virology and investigators on and off the UNL campus on a fee for service basis. The core provides comprehensive data collection, data interpretation and education in flow cytometry.

INSTRUMENTATION

The UNL facilities house three bench top analyzers and one cell sorting instrument.

  • BD FACSCalibur dual-laser cytometer capable of four color, 8 parameter analysis operating under CellQuest

  • BD FACScan single-laser cytomer capable of 3 color, 6 parameter analysis operating under CellQuest

  • BD FACSVantage SE three-laser, high speed cell sorter capable of 5 color, 8 parameter analysis, operating under CellQuest

  • BD FACS Array dual-laser cytometer capable of four color analysis operating under FCAP and BDFACSArray System Software in a 96-well plate format

Also available to all faculty are the following instruments and services at the UNMC Cell Analysis Facility in Omaha

  • (2) BD FACSCalibur dual-laser cytometers capable of four colors, 8 parameter analysis operating under CellQuest

  • BD LSR II three-laser cytometer capable of 10 colors, 12 parameter analysis operating under FACSDiva

  • BD FACSVantage DivA three-laser, high speed cell sorter capable of 6 colors, 10 parameter analysis, operating under FACSDiva and CellQuest Pro

  • Becton Dickinson FACStarPlus three-laser low pressure cell sorter capable of 4 colors, 6 parameter analysis, operating under CellQuest

  • Miltenyi AutoMACs automated magnetic cell separation system.
