Research Interests

Research focuses on poxviral infections, including functional genomics of animal poxviruses and pathogenesis of orf (a worldwide poxviral disease of sheep) and sheeppox (an exotic disease of sheep that shares important clinical and epidemiological features with smallpox).

Studies will determine the roles in disease of a unique set of orf virus genes potentially involved in virus virulence and host-range.
