The Virology Retreat for 2012 begins at noon Sunday, March 18, and ends Monday afternoon, March 19.

Location: The Lied Lodge & Conference Center Arbor Day Farm, Nebraska City, NE

This intercampus event is sponsored annually by the Nebraska Center for Virology to provide an informal atmosphere for students, postdocs, faculty and other researchers from institutions and industry in Nebraska and the surrounding states to come together to discuss their research. Virologists and others with an interest in virology, basic cell biology or molecular biology are encouraged to attend. The retreat provides a good opportunity to meet other virologists in the area, become familiar with their research and develop collaborative projects. In the past, investigators from Missouri, Kansas and Iowa, have attended along with participants from Nebraska.

You are encouraged to sign up as an attendee and/or a presenter.

Agenda:  The agenda for this retreat typically includes 10-15 minute scientific presentations by approximately 30 students, postdocs and faculty, plus a poster session.  The meeting will include dinner Sunday evening with a keynote speaker.

Cost: All retreat expenses including overnight lodging (double occupancy) and meals are free to participants. (Guests/spouses may attend at their own expense.)

Room and Meal Registration:  Advanced registration for all attendees and/or presenters is required by February 15, 2012.  For additional information regarding registration, please contact the retreat coordinator, Dianna Wright, via email at dwright5@unl.edu or via phone at (402) 472-8364.
