Tenure Track Faculty Position in Viral Evolution

POSITION:
The Nebraska Center for Virology invites applications for a new faculty position in viral evolution at the level of Assistant Professor to conduct research in a new, state-of-the-art research facility through the Nebraska Center for Virology and the School of Biological Sciences where excellent opportunities exist for collaboration with Center faculty in multiple departments and other institutions.

DESCRIPTION:
Successful candidate will conduct research in viral evolution. Specific area of research is open and may include evolutionary genetics examining virus adaptation, comparative genomics of viral genomes and molecular epidemiology of emerging viral diseases. Candidates must show excellent capacity to develop and coordinate interdisciplinary collaborative research with other Center researchers at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln, the University of Nebraska Medical Center, and Creighton University. These individuals are expected to develop externally funded research and a vibrant program in viral evolution, and to actively recruit, teach, train, and mentor undergraduates, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows.

QUALIFICATIONS:                     
PhD or equivalent.
