RESEARCH ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
POSITION:
The Nebraska Center for Virology
and the School of Biological Sciences invites applications for a
non tenure-track faculty position at the Research Assistant Professor
level in the area of Virology to assist in providing management of
ongoing research projects in the program of Dr. Charles Wood
conducting research on HIV and AIDS-associated diseases including
Kaposi’s Sarcoma. Ongoing research includes molecular
studies on HIV and Kaposi’s Sarcoma associated herpesvirus
transmission and evolution in an African cohort; immune response
against these viruses is also being studied. Other projects
involve viral gene regulation and the control between viral lytic
and latent infection. For detailed information on research

this website. Also, will supervise
and provide daily input and guidance for the research staff in Dr.
Wood’s laboratory while developing independent research complementary
to and supportive of programs associated with the Nebraska Center
for Virology through the School of Biological Sciences.
QUALIFICATIONS:
PhD
and/or MD with relevant post-doctoral research experience in molecular
virology.
