Research Technologist

Research position available in the School of Biological Sciences in Dr. Charles Wood's lab conducting studies on a grant-funded research project. Duties include managing the study database, maintaining lab inventory, and performing immunoassays on  human viruses. Responsibilities also include routine daily laboratory duties, such as maintenance of cell and bacteria cultures, and performing experiments involving various molecular techniques such as gel electrophoresis, DNA, and RNA preparation and analysis. Assist students and postdoctoral fellows in the lab when needed. Excellent benefits including staff/dependent scholarship program.

QUALIFICATIONS:                     
Bachelor's degree in molecular biology plus one year of related work experience in a laboratory setting required. Knowledge in biochemistry, molecular biology and virology necessary. Bachelor's in virology preferred. Experience using various equipment and software applications including Word, Access, and Excel, in Windows and Macintosh environment essential.
