The 2007 USREV program attracted students from as far away as Massachusetts. The
ten-week-long research training is open to all interested students who
attend colleges outside of Nebraska and are of current sophomore or
junior standing and are interest in a career in virology research. Students
receive a stipend of $4,000, dormitory lodging and meals, round-trip
air fare, and more. Our students this year included: Abby
McDonald, Buena Vista University; Derek Gyllenhammer, University of
Massachusetts; Crystal Redman, Buena Vista University; and Sahnnon Wilkins,
Jackson State University. The mentors for 2007 were Dr. Peter Angeletti,
Dr. James Van Etten, Dr. Luwen Zhang, and Dr. Charles Wood.
