Our Primary Color
Red, also known as scarlet at our institution, is more than just our brand. It's a powerful color, and very easily takes dominance in design. Red is our primary color, as evidenced by its use in our template. Red should be retained as the primary, and should not be subsumed by other colors.

Secondary Colors
All great designs make use of a harmonious color balance. Some designs can pull this off with two colors, others use more.
In the 2009 template, the zen suite—boxes, forms and tables—where shipped with optional "secondary" colors. As the uptake of these design elements exponentially increased, it became obvious this color scheme wasn't balanced with our primary color. Because of this, the color palette has been reexamined.
The new color palette diminishes the opportunity for unbalanced designs by limiting the options and focusing on stronger ties between colors.
