Introduction to Cascading Style Sheets
Learn to manipulate text and graphics using CSS, Cascading Style Sheets, the power behind the new UNL Web Templates. You should already be familiar with Dreamweaver and HTML. In two hours with Mark Hiatt, you will learn to adjust fonts, font size and color in text and links, learn to adjust margins and paddings and how to flow text around images. There should be time afterward for questions and hands-on training.

Dreamweaver UNL Templates
This is the Big One. In only two hours, Mark Hiatt can show you how to build web pages in under ten mintues that comply with the UNL Web Developers Network standards Chancellor Perlman approved in 2006 for colors, fonts, navigation and general look and feel of UNL Web pages. You will learn how to get the Templates package and install it, how to select a Template to build your page from, how to edit the navigation and the various areas of the page you can personalize, how to validate the resulting page and more. If you are in charge of editing or creating Web pages for your college, department or campus organization, this is the session for you. You should have some experience with both Dreamweaver and HTML, for best results.

Introduction to Photoshop
Join Leona Barratt and learn the basic functions of Adobe Photoshop in under an hour. In this classroom session, you will be introduced to the most popular features of Photoshop, such as cropping images, and fixing photos with color or contrast problems. You will also learn the advantages of different file formats, such as GIFs, TIFFs, JPEGs, and PSDs, when working with images for the Web or print.

Photoshop Layers, Adjustment Layers and Selections
In this one-hour session, Leona Barratt will show you how Photoshop lets you isolate different parts of an image on layers. Each layer can then be edited independently, allowing incredible flexibility in creating and modifying an image. See how Adjustment Layers allow you to edit an image without damaging any original pixels. Also covered is the essential principles of not only how to make and modify selections but why they are so important. You will learn how to use Photoshop's selection tools to manipulate areas of the image without affecting an entire image.

In only an hour, Leona Barratt will show you how to remove red eye, eliminate blemishes, enhance facial features, straighten distorted images, create a picture package, and build a photo gallery in a matter of seconds. We will learn how to restore an old torn and stained photograph. Our final project will be creating a professional looking glamour shot of a photograph.
