Students Advocating Gender Equity (SAGE)

Who Are We?
UNL's SAGE (Students Advocating Gender Equity) is an extension of the Women's and Gender Studies Program but open to all interested students! SAGE seeks to provide a place of action, discussion, and academic development for students interested in feminist and gender concerns on the UNL campus and the Lincoln community.

SAGE is a student group that combines the social with the political by sponsoring fundraising drives for the Women's Center and Friendship Home, political rallies like "Take Back the Night," and "Shakespeare's Sister," a day-long celebration of women's voices.

What Do We DO?
SAGE has historically participated in a variety of campus and community-based activities, including:

  • Assisting with the planning and organization of the No Limits conference
  • Attending student feminist conferences in Washington, D.C.
  • Participating in Take Back the Night
  • Participating in “Shakespeare's Sister,” a day-long celebration of women voices—later reincarnated as “Twisted Sister"

When Do We Meet?
Meetings are held Thursday at 4pm at various locations  on campus or downtown. For up-to-date information on meeting times and locations, please contact Meredith Cain, SAGE's President.
