Dr. Julia McQuillan, professor and chair of sociology and WGS affiliate at UNL, recently delivered a talk at UNL SciComm 2015, a Symposium on Effective Science Communication, entitled "Adding Value to Science Communication through Partnering with Social Scientists." In her talk, Dr. McQuillan invites us to reconsider our own biases and describes how sociological theory can be applied to both formal and informal science learning to plug the leaky STEM pipline.
