Shea Awarded the Howard and Judy Vann Student Leadership Award

Claire Shea, a junior women's and gender studies minor, has been awarded the Howard and Judy Vann Student Leadership Award. She is a political science and psychology double major with minors in WGS and Spanish. She is an ASUN Senator on the campus life and safety and government liaison committees. Shea has worked extensively with the It’s On Us campaign, helping to put on UNL’s first Week of Action, as well as other sexual assault prevention and mental health initiatives. She is Panhellenic delegate for Alpha Omicron Pi sorority, and a family representative for Dance Marathon, raising money for Children’s Hospital in Omaha.

Shea will be recognized at the annual Alumni Awards Banquet on May 5 at Nebraska Innovation Campus. At the Banquet, the Nebraska Alumni Association will also recognize 20 accomplished University of Nebraska-Lincoln alumni, seven additional promising students and an outstanding family.

The reception begins at 5:30 p.m. with the dinner and awards presentation shortly afterward.
