Scholarship/ Fundraising

Since 1901, scholarships to UNL students have been a key component of the UNL Women’s Club.  Scholarship funds come from general donations, memorial and honorary donations, and fundraising activities.  Scholarships are based on academic achievement, financial need, extracurricular and community volunteer activities.  The University of Nebraska Foundation manages an endowed scholarship fund for the Women’s Club.

If interested in donating to the UNL Women’s Club scholarship fund, please send contributions to the UNL Women’s Club treasurer.

The Fundraising Committee will be offering several celebratory promotional items for a donation during the coming year.  These items will be showcased for you to browse and take home at the Welcome Tea and the Fall Brunch!  You may also order these items using the order form here.

An Afternoon at the Library - Too much for words

Sunday, November 2nd, 3:00 pm –  4:30 pm

Jane Pope Geske Heritage Room of Nebraska Authors

3rd floor, Bennett Martin Public Library
136 S. 14th St., Lincoln

The Fundraising Committee is excited to announce an event designed to appeal to every segment of our community!  Please find time in your busy calendar to attend this wonderful event where ALL NET PROCEEDS will enhance our scholarship account.  Meredith McGowan, Curator of the Heritage Room at Bennett Martin Public Library, has graciously offered to provide a tour of this special location – famous for its connection to Nebraska authors.  During this event, our very own scholarship recipients will read Ted Kooser's book, Bag In The Wind, a story for all ages.  Mr. Kooser is not only featured in the Heritage Room, but received the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry for Delights and Shadows in 2005 and was the U.S. Poet Laureate for two consecutive terms, 2004-2006.

Each attendee will receive a unique UNLWC tote bag (to replace their “bag in the wind”) and an accompanying raffle ticket for an autographed copy of Mr. Kooser’s book! The drawing will take place at the Spring Luncheon.  In addition, one tote bag distributed the day of the library event will contain a SPECIAL PRIZE!  Don't miss this opportunity! We will have extra totes available that afternoon and throughout the year for a donation of $10 a piece.  Each one comes with a raffle ticket.  This event is ideal for familes!  Please note that metered parking is abundantly available and free on Sunday.
