Writing Center Mission Statement (Revised 07/08)

The UNL Writing Center provides one-with-one consulting on writing in all its forms to all members of the University community. We emphasize collaboration and inquiry, enact and promote a learning culture and provide support for students and faculty as knowledge producers and teachers of writing. The Writing Center is a site for research on writing, the teaching of writing, and the writing processes of student writers. Additionally, and perhaps most importantly, we are committed to the democratization of higher education and in particular to the ongoing pursuit of a just society.
