This WWW site is designed as an aid for nematode identification and systematic research, as well as a general resource for the science of Nematology. The emphasis is on plant parasitic nematodes and insect parasitic nematodes . The molecular diagnostic protocols are those used in the laboratory, some designed by the UNL Dept. of Plant Pathology, and others adapted from the literature. One major effort is the characterization of plant parasitic nematodes from the northern great plains of North America. The site is continually updated as new species, isolates and methods are added. Also includes documents relating to nematode control and summaries of federally funded regional research projects.
