When I access MyRED, how do I get my NU ID and password?

You must claim your account in TrueYou before you can sign into MyRED.

If you applied to UNL within the past few days, you will soon receive two emails:

  • Email 1: Confirms the receipt of your application and provides your NUID.
  • Email 2: Provides your temporary TrueYou password OR indicates that you already have a TrueYou password.

For anyone else who applied or enrolled at UNL in 2010 or later:

  • To look up your NU ID, go to TrueYou and use the "Don't know your NU ID?" link.
  • To reset your password (if you previously answered your security questions), go to TrueYou, enter your NU ID, click "Forgot Password", and follow the prompts.

What is TrueYou?

TrueYou is a system that helps you maintain a single password and NU ID across many systems at many institutions in Nebraska. Participating institutions include: UNL, UNK, UNO, UNMC, Chadron State College, Peru State College, and Wayne State College.

If you are an applicant to one or more of the institutions above, your NU ID and password for each campus will be the same.

How can I check my application status?

Log in to MyRED. On the Applicant tab select UNL Admissions, then "Graduate" or "Undergraduate".
