Career Experience

Build your credentials and shape your experience while still in school

There’s no greater way to satisfy your curiosity than by jumping in and getting your feet wet. The Department of Anthropology has relationships with local and regional agencies and organizations looking for inquisitive and ambitious students to fulfill internship roles.

Anthropology majors are encouraged to augment their classes with international or professional internships. Our students have interned at the Smithsonian and at museums and national agencies throughout the United States. In Lincoln, students have completed internships with the Asian Community and Cultural Center, the Indian Center, the National Park Service Midwest Archeological Center (one of two major NPS research laboratories), the Nebraska State Historical Society, and the People’s City Mission, to name just a few. Information on internships is available at Career Services in the Nebraska Union. Faculty members will also help students to find internship opportunities.
