Get involved

The Anthropology student organization AnthroGroup is a great source of information on department activities and a good way to meet other anthropologists. AnthroGroup publishes the Nebraska Anthropologist and meets regularly throughout the year. Meetings are announced, along with job and internship opportunities, lectures, and other professional activities, through the department. Please contact Kat Krutak-Bickert at for more information.

Anthropology majors are encouraged to augment their classes with international or professional internships. Information on internships is available at Career Services on the 2nd floor of the Nebraska Union. We post internship and employment opportunities as well as other valuable information and shout-outs on the department's Facebook page.

Summer Field School

The university offers a summer field school every year—the 2020 field school will be hosted by Dr. William Belcher. An updated list of field schools is maintained by the American Anthropological Association and the Archaeological Institute of America.
