LGBTQA Resource Center Director

The Assistant Director for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender (GLBT) and Ally Programs and Services works out of Student Involvement and is the Director of the LGBTQA Resource Center. The Director provides a "safe space" for LGBTQA students, provides relevant resources and referrals, provides presentations and workshops on Creating Inclusive Spaces and Ally Development, oversees the operation of the resource center and all programming and services provided by the center, provides support and follow-up services to those who have experienced bias, and serves as a resource for Spectrum (The LGBTQA Student Organization). The resource center has a library at the center and the contents are included in the University Library catalog. OutSpeaking, our speakers bureau is part of the center's services.  We also provide educational and social programming inlcuding History Month activities that include an annual dinner, Lavender Graduation, coordinate and Louis Crompton Scholarship and more!

Spectrum: Gay Lesbian Bisexual Transgender Queer and Ally Recognized Student Organization (RSO) at UNL

Located in room 234 in the Nebraska Union, Spectrum is a student organization office staffed by student volunteers. The office provides a safe, informal gathering space, and meets weekly during the fall and spring semesters. The group provides educational and social programming for its members, including an annual drag show each spring. Spectrum has a facebook page.

The Women's Center

Located at 340 Nebraska Union, the Center's goal is to assist women with a successful, positive college experience. The Center offers programs and services to enhance and enrich the educational experience of women. Also we strive to increase sensitivity to gender-based issues across the campus community.

We provide advocacy and support for women's concerns and offer information to anyone who seeks to further understand the changing roles of women and men in our society. Includes an extensive list of GLBT and GLBT-friendly resources. For more information, call 472-2597.

Consortium of Higher Education Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Resource Professionals

The combined vision and mission of the Consortium is to achieve higher education environments in which lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender students, faculty, staff, administrators, and alumni have equity in every respect. Our goals are to support colleagues and develop curriculum to professionally enhance this work; to seek climate improvement on campuses; and to advocate for policy change, program development, and establishment of LGBT Office/Centers.
