Celebration of Service

September 28, 2020

Any success of our university is achieved because of the talent of our people. Each year, we have the privilege of celebrating your talent and dedication by highlighting the hundreds of faculty and staff marking important milestones in their service.

This year, 991 faculty and staff will be so recognized, including 16 employees who have given 45, 50 or 55 years of service to Nebraska. We are all exceedingly grateful for your phenomenal contributions to our land-grant university.

As with every large event this year, we are adjusting plans for the 2020 Celebration of Service. I invite you to plan to join me in a virtual celebration of the phenomenal service of our faculty and staff beginning Monday, October 19. The website home to our virtual celebration will feature several special videos, including Associate Professor of Broadcasting Rick Alloway’s back-in-time, scene-setting audio vignettes that put in historical context each five-year service milestone.

If you are an award recipient, you will receive an email from staff in human resources within the next few days with information on how your award will be delivered.

This is an exceptional time, and I cannot say enough how much I appreciate the work you are doing. Thank you, on behalf of all of the students and constituents whom you touch with your work. Thank you for your continued excellence, your commitment to all in our university community, and your belief in our mission every day.
