Invitation to meet Presidential priority candidate, Mr. Walter “Ted” Carter, Jr.

Dear colleagues,

Walter “Ted” Carter, Jr.

As you probably know, the NU Board of Regents has selected Mr. Walter “Ted” Carter, Jr. as the priority candidate to serve as the 8th President of the University of Nebraska system. As part of the required 30-day review period, university faculty, staff and students and the public will have an opportunity to engage with Mr. Carter.

UNL will host two opportunities next week for faculty and staff to meet with Ted:

Tuesday, November 5th

  • UNL Faculty and Staff Forum on City Campus: 9:30–11:00 a.m., Nebraska Union Swanson Auditorium
  • UNL Faculty and Staff Forum on East Campus: 4:00–5:30 p.m., International Quilt Museum Great Hall

We will also host a public forum on Wednesday, November 6, from 4:00–5:30 p.m. at the Nebraska Innovation Campus Conference Center Auditorium. I strongly encourage you to attend one of these meetings and to get to know Ted. He is a retired vice admiral in the U.S. Navy and immediate past superintendent of the U.S. Naval Academy and former president of the U.S. Naval War College.

Thank you for your participation in this process.

Warm regards,
