The University of Nebraska Board of Regents has selected Mr. Walter “Ted” Carter, Jr. as the priority candidate to serve as the 8th President of the University of Nebraska system. As part of the required 30-day review period, university students, faculty, staff and the public will have an opportunity to engage with Mr. Carter.

UNL will host a meeting for students to meet with Ted on Tuesday, November 5, from 2:00–3:30 p.m. in the College of Business Atrium, located in Hawks Hall at 14th & Vine Streets. We will also host a public forum on Wednesday, November 6, from 4:00–5:30 p.m. at the Nebraska Innovation Campus Conference Center Auditorium.

I strongly encourage you to attend one of these meetings and to get to know Ted. He is a retired vice admiral in the U.S. Navy and immediate past superintendent of the U.S. Naval Academy and former president of the U.S. Naval War College.

Thank you for your participation in this process.

Warm regards,
