Dear UNL Students,
I hope your first week of remote learning has gone well. Two months ago, none of us could have imagined this is how we'd be returning from spring break. I appreciate your grit and resiliency in this unprecedented moment.
Given the uncertainty in the months ahead, the university will be continuing with remote learning for summer session undergraduate, graduate, and professional courses. If you have already enrolled in an in-person summer course, you’ll receive a notice if the course is canceled. Otherwise, the course will continue via remote learning. Previously scheduled online courses will continue as planned.
We know some of your summer plans, like internships, study abroad, summer employment, and travel, may have been impacted by COVID-19. We want to make sure, even in these circumstances, that there are opportunities for you at UNL this summer, so we are working to expand and open up new course offerings and develop alternative academic opportunities beyond our originally planned summer schedule. We will have more information about these additional courses soon.
UNL is committed to providing opportunities for all of our students, especially in this challenging time. It is important to us to keep student costs as low as possible. For summer 2020, tuition will be set at the in-person tuition rate for resident and non-resident students, and the university program and facilities fee and online course fees will be waived. Students will be responsible for the registration, technology, and library fees that are needed to support summer instruction. Students in professional graduate programs in business, engineering and law will continue with their established program rates.
These are challenging times, and the university is committed to making sure that you have what you need for success. We are all in this together.
