Nicole received her Ph.D. in English—Composition and Rhetoric with a minor in Teaching, Learning, and Teacher Education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Her most recent research seeks to understand ways we can better support and foster cross-level collaborations with our teaching collogues at the secondary level, specifically with the goal of working together as policy advocates. In addition, her other research interests include writing center studies, teacher development, the study of transfer in the writing center and composition classroom, and disability studies. Her scholarship has appeared in College English and English Journal. In addition to teaching first-year and advanced composition courses, while at UNL, Nicole has also served as the Associate Coordinator of Composition, Assistant Director of the Writing Center, and most recently, as the Assistant Director of the Writing Fellows Program.
