As a graduate student, you may encounter unique issues or have questions about policies and procedures while progressing through your program. What forms are required for graduation? Can I get a summer tuition waiver? How do I change my dissertation credits to thesis credits? Is there anyone that can help me edit my CV and cover letter or help me with my teaching? For these questions and more, Graduate Studies has dedicated specialists to assist you.
Terri Eastin – Master’s Programs Coordinator
Students pursuing a master’s degree are required to submit a Memorandum of Courses indicating the courses they plan to complete during the course of their study. Once this form is submitted, the Master’s Programs Coordinator, Terri Eastin, will review your program to ensure that it meets Graduate College requirements to be awarded a master’s degree. Terri also processes Final Examination Report forms and confirms that you’ve completed all necessary steps to graduate in your final term of study. Contact Terri if you have any questions about master’s degree requirements or required milestone forms.
Hollie Swanson – Doctoral Programs Coordinator
Like master’s degree students, doctoral students are also required to complete a plan of study – the Program of Studies – which should be submitted before you’ve completed half of your program. Hollie Swanson, the Doctoral Programs Coordinator, will approve your Program of Studies, as well as your Supervisory Committee. After you’ve passed your comprehensive exam, you’ll submit the Application for Candidacy to Hollie for approval. In the final year of your program, you’ll apply for graduation, complete your dissertation, and submit your Final Oral Examination form to Hollie for approval to graduate. If you have any questions about doctoral degree milestones or policies, contact Hollie.
Dr. Eva Bachman – Academic Success Coordinator and Associate Registrar
Graduate Studies is dedicated to ensuring the academic success of our graduate students. Dr. Bachman, the Academic Success Coordinator, is available to provide guidance to students regarding your options if any questions or issues arise during the course of your degree. In addition, Dr. Bachman processes all forms related to graduate course enrollment, such as the Schedule Adjustment Form to amend enrollment or add/drop classes after open enrollment has ended and the Override Authorization Form required to exceed the maximum credit hour enrollment.
Caroline Knuth – Fellowship Specialist
As Fellowship Specialist, Caroline helps students understand their funding (assistantships and fellowships) as well as the tuition, health insurance, and other benefits that accompany them. If you encounter any issues with your funding, Caroline will work with other campus units, like Payroll, Student Accounts, and the Health Center, to resolve the issues and ensure that you are paid correctly and receive your tuition and health benefits.
