I'm from Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Growing up it was always my dream to attend the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. My time at UNL allowed me to do many things including mentoring for the Melvin Jones Scholars and the Nebraska College Preparatory. My experiences at UNL also allowed me to study abroad in India twice. The second time I went as a Critical Language Scholar and I studied the Hindi language and Indian culture in Jaipur, India for a summer. I earned my Bachelors of Journalism degree in 2014. Before coming to UNL I worked as an Admissions Counselor at Western Nebraska Community College for two years.
Working with students from diverse backgrounds is my passion. I believe that exposure to diversity will adequately prepare students to work and live in an increasingly global community. Some of my hobbies include playing softball and volleyball, watching Netflix, and spending time with family. I completed my first half-marathon last September and I plan to finish two more this year.
