Theatrix will be holding its spring auditions on January 18th. During this audition both of the Theatrix Mainstage productions will be cast as well as the workshop performance of What's Life.
Audition Material and Information
Prepare two contemporary contrasting monologues that do not exceed three minutes if you are auditioning for the Theatrix Mainstage Productions. If you are auditioning for What's Life please also prepare 16-32 bars of a contemporary musical. (Please look at the conflict section to see which Rep productions and which Theatrix productions overlap.)
Please bring a current headshot and resume as well as a list of conflicts. Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your time slot. If you miss or are late to your time slot, speak to the stage manager on site.
Callbacks for Theatrix Mainstage will be posted online at here and will be held later the same day. There will be conflicts for What's Life.
The first show of the spring Mainstage season will be Hand to God written by Robert Askins and directed by Christa Retka. The second show of the Mainstage season will be Constellations written by Nick Payne and directed by Grace Debetaz.
Cast lists for both productions as well as What's Life will be posted soon after auditions and callbacks.
The Theatrix Mainstage shows will run parallel to the Nebraska Repertory's season with substantial overlap of rehearsal schedules and performances. To make sure each production has the correct amount of commitment from its actors, there will be some restrictions on which productions student actors can participate in during the fall. Those actors cast in the Rep's production of A Thousand Words will NOT be able to be in Hand to God. Those actors cast in the Rep's production of Pippin will NOT allowed to participate in Hand to God or Constellations. Those actors cast in the Our Town workshop CAN BE in Constellations.
There are no conflicts with What's Life. As always, students are allowed to be in both Theatrix productions.
