Professor Duncan teaches a course on Gender and Sexuality in the Ancient World every other year. She has published articles such as, "It Takes a Woman to Play a Real Man: Clara as Hero(ine) of Beaumont & Fletcher's Love's Cure," English Literary Renaissance 30.3 (2000) 396-407, and "Gendered Interpretations: Two Fourth-Century Performances of Sophocles' Electra," Helios 32.1 (2005) 55-79. Professor Duncan's first book, Performance and Identity in the Classical World, was published in 2006, and she is currently working on her second, which is titled Actor Kings and King-Actors: Staging Absolute Power in Greece and Rome.
