Piece Makers Quilting Group

Silk Necktie Quilt

The UNLWC Piecemakers Quilt Group have created a beautiful new quilt from silk neckties. The neckties belonged to Prem Paul, UNL Vice Chancellor for Research, from 2001 – 2016.

His widow, Missy Paul donated the neckties to the quilting group to use for their projects. The quilt is 44” x 52”, contains 42 blocks and includes parts of 126 of his silk ties.     The members of the group are so pleased that their quilts have been used to help provide scholarship funds, to students at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln. Tickets will be sold throughout the year at all UNLWC events. The quilt will be raffled at the Spring Luncheon in April 2019, and you need not be present to win.

Ticket prices: $5.00 each or 5 for $20.00

The quilt will be displayed for the first time at the Fall Welcome Event on Sept. 12.
