Rob Skolnick, a preparator in the University of Nebraska State Museum, uses a pneumatic air scribe to remove sediment from the fossil skull of an oreodont. The skull was recovered in 1951 in Sioux County, Neb. The museum will open its research collection (stored in Nebraska Hall) to faculty, staff and students from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Sept. 28.
