Winter Weather Plans at Nebraska
The University of Nebraska-Lincoln is monitoring the winter weather system expected to move into the state this weekend and will evaluate the likelihood of travel difficulties extending beyond the weekend.
Whenever possible, the university continues to function during inclement weather. Because many students are expected to travel over the holiday weekend, the university expects to announce by noon Monday, Jan. 16, if Tuesday’s classes will be in session or if classes and events will be canceled.
Students are encouraged to register for UNL Alert text messages, which will relay information if the university determines Tuesday classes and events will be canceled. The announcement also will be available at the university’s home page and on the university news Facebook and Twitter accounts.
In the event Tuesday’s classes and events are canceled, a separate announcement will be directed to university personnel by 5 a.m. Tuesday regarding whether or not they should report to work. For more information, staff should refer to Option 2 under the university’s Winter Weather Policy and Procedures.
