The annual Mid-America Conference on Hispanic Literature is a joint undertaking of the University of Colorado, Boulder; the University of Kansas, Lawrence; the University of Missouri, Columbia; the University of Nebraska, Lincoln; the University of Wisconsin, Madison and Milwaukee; and Washington University in St. Louis. The literatures of Spain and Latin America will be featured in concurrent sessions organized by topics. Presentations will be in Spanish and/or English.
The registration fee for the conference is $110 for faculty and $85 for graduate students. Most events will be held on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus, and the banquet will be held at the Holiday Inn. We look forward to hosting you!

Exiles, Migrations, and Movements
The Conference's Organizing Committee seeks proposals for individual presentations and panels on aspects of Hispanic literatures and cultures related to the conference theme: Exiles, Migrations, and Movements.
Topics may include, but are not limited to:

MACHL 2012 is now accepting abstracts. Submit your abstract in MS Word 2007 or higher (.docx) or pdf to MACHLUNL2012@gmail.com.
Pre-arranged Panels
We encourage panel proposals around a specific topic that includes 3 or 4 presentations. The organizer of the panel must send a message to MACHLUNL2012@gmail.com that includes the following:
- Title of the Panel
- Presentation Abstracts
- Contact Information of presenters including Affiliation & Title
NOTE: Each presenter in a pre-arranged panel must also e-mail individually his/her abstract and must include at the bottom of the abstract the title of the panel.
Accommodations
MACHL has reserved blocks of rooms in two Lincoln downtown hotels:

Holiday Inn Lincoln-Downtown is approximately five blocks from campus, located at 141 N 9th Street. Secured room rates are $104 per night, and our code is MID.

Embassy Suites Hotel, located at 1040 P Street, is adjacent to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus. Rooms at Embassy Suites are priced at $124 per night, single and double. To secure our rate, reservations will need to be made by September 12, 2012. The code is HLD.
