Velazquez, Balasubramanian, & Curry Honored for Education Abroad Programs

During it's first faculty-leader appreciation reception on August 23, Education Abroad honored 19 faculty, three of whom are WGS affiliates. The annual awards were created to engage and honor faculty leaders who guide education abroad programs. Isabel Velazquez of Modern Languages was named "Rookie of the Year," while Radha Balasubramanian, professor of Modern Languages and Director of the Global Studies Program, was named "Most Innovative." Dawne Curry, associate professor of history and ethnic studies, was given the "Smooth Sailing" award.

  • Smooth Sailing: Diprah Jhe & Dana Fritz
  • Students' Choice: Rick Alloway, Sue Roush, Paul Springer, & Francoise Agena
  • Most Valuable Leader: L.J. McElravy, Jon Kerrigan, John Carroll, & Peter Olshavsky
