The city is filled with rich history and places that remind us of years past. Here is a list of places to take you back in time — from the early days of the capital city to when you were in college ✨
Joyo Theater
6102 Havelock Avenue
Though new businesses are budding in Havelock, Joyo Theater has been holding down the fort for over 75 years. The theater is still a great spot to watch both new and old movies with friends and family.
Tina’s Cafe
616 South Street
Nothing says nostalgia quite like a good ole cup of joe and a warm cinnamon roll. Tina’s Cafe has been around for over 30 years, serving the local Lincoln community and those passing through. Be sure to stop by the next time you are back in Lincoln.
Historic Haymarket District
Downtown Lincoln
The Haymarket is home to plenty of Lincoln history, with buildings dating back to the early 1900s — including the Burlington Railroad depot. Outside of exploring the city’s history, the Haymarket is perfect for shopping local and grabbing a bite to eat with friends.
Bison Witches
1320 P Street
Bison Witches has been — and still is — the college hangout spot. This popular spot has been open since the early 2000s and is still a hit today. There’s something about sitting out on the patio and doing homework with friends on a sunny spring day or cozying up inside with a warm cup of soup during the winter months. Good news: not much has changed and the sandwich and soup combo is calling your name.
Memorial Stadium
One Memorial Stadium Drive
The pinnacle of our campus, Memorial Stadium holds over 100 years of memories and nostalgia. Stepping through the gates, you are brought back to the big-time comebacks, National Championships and the ringing of “Husker Power” on a sunny Saturday afternoon in Lincoln. Want to be transported back to game day? Consider scheduling a guided tour of Memorial Stadium.
