For a lot of us, summer break means spending time apart from our college friends. While the easy answer to your summer blues is to text or call, here are a few different — and fun — ways to stay connected during the upcoming months.
Postcards
One of the joys of college is making connections with people from across the country, and even across the world. Sending a postcard may be old-fashioned, but it gives your pals a look into where you live in a personalized way. So, while apart, make your friends your pen pals and check in with one another.
Day-in-the-life videos
We all love day-in-the-life videos on social media, so why not make a few videos of your own? Show your daily routines, your neighborhood, old stomping grounds, work views, dinner and any fun activities you are doing this summer. Plus, making videos is a great creative outlet!
Photo Diaries
Similar to daily vlogs, take pictures throughout your day or week and send them to a friend. Bonus points if you include captions or doodles on the photos, which you can do for free on Canva!
Countdown to Lincoln
When is it too early to start a countdown to being back on campus? Asking for a friend. Keeping track of how many days until move-in is a great way to build excitement for the memories to come and make plans for the upcoming semester.
The fall semester will be here before we know it. Until then, enjoy summer break, Huskers!
