To the student crossing the graduation stage...
Somehow, someway, four years went by in the blink of an eye. While commencement is a celebration of the future in front of you, it is also a chance to honor the years of late nights, lessons learned and lifelong memories.
During your time at Nebraska, you’ve set records, won awards, dove into world-changing research, celebrated big wins, and achieved so much. Perhaps more importantly, you passed the class, met the friends, joined the RSO, aced the test, presented the group project, completed the homework assignment and made the most of your years on campus. You have done and accomplished what once may have felt impossible.
The thing about the University of Nebraska is that it’s not just a place, but a feeling. It’s a friendly smile when you are down, the warmth of a sunny day in Lincoln when you’re feeling cold, a supportive community when you feel alone. There truly is no place like Nebraska, and no people like Huskers.
Much like this time four years ago, this is not the end, but merely a new beginning. A chapter marked with new friendships, once-in-a-lifetime opportunities and unforgettable memories. So, while you may not feel ready for the world in front of you, know that the world is ready for you.
You are ready for this moment.
You are prepared for the future.
You have everything it takes to be successful.
Enjoy the moment and remember you have somewhere to call home that makes saying goodbye feel so difficult. Once a Husker, always a Husker.
Go Big Red, Class of 2026.
