March for Science 4/22/17

On Saturday April 22nd, people around the world marched for science (http://science.sciencemag.org/content/sci/356/6336/356.full.pdf). Lincoln was no exception with an estimated 2500 participants. What some may not know is that our own members of the NCV were key contributors to the March for Science Lincoln.

Ignacio Correas, a graduate student in the Osorio group was an organizer of the March and spoke at the Capitol steps.

James Van Etten, the William Allington Distinguished Professor of Plant Pathology and Co-Director of the NCV, was one of the four invited speakers.

All of NCV should be proud of our members as they standup for science, and provide critical information in public forums that promote science, critical thinking and ever-expanding opportunities for citizens to know about the natural world.
