Principles of Ecology

How To Do Ecology by Karban and Huntzinger
Mathematica 8 for students

I previously taught Principles of Ecology (BIOS 805), a graduate-level core course for students in the Ecology, Evolution, and Behavior (EEB) GREG.   The course emphasized depth as opposed to breadth, examining historical, emprical, and theoretical work on a select topic within each of the areas of population, community, and ecosystem ecology.  The purpose of the course was to introduce graduate students to ways of thinking critically about current questions in ecological research.  In the context of the other core graduate courses in EEB, this course emphasizes quantitative thinking.  A past syllabus of the course can be found here [PDF].
