Format for the Academic Planning Committee's Open Discussion Sessions and Hearings - Round Three - Fiscal Year 2002 & 2003 Budget Reduction Process

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Academic Planning Committee has scheduled a series of public hearings to gather input on proposed budget reductions at the university. The following sessions are open to the public. Speakers wanting to provide written material should bring 20 copies to the session for distribution to the committee. The schedule follows:


Hearing on the Elimination of the Division of Continuing Studies

Date: September 23, 2002

Place: Nebraska East Union (room posted)

12:30pm: Those wishing to testify sign in.

1-2pm: APC will hear testimony from invited presenters.

2-4pm: Open hearing.


Open Hearing on Any Budget Reduction Item

Date: October 7, 2002

Place: Nebraska Union (room to be posted)

12:30pm: Those wanting to testify sign in.

1-5pm: Open hearing.


Open Video Conference on Removal of Budget Support for the Grand Island Learning Center

Date: October 8, 2002

Sites: Room 116 L.W. Chase Hall, East Campus, Lincoln

Fonner Park Room, College Park, Grand Island

12:15pm: Those wanting to testify sign in.

1-4pm: Open hearing.


Open Video Conference on Closing of South Central Research and Education Center

Date: October 10, 2002

Sites: Room 116 L.W. Chase Hall, East Campus, Lincoln

South Central Research and Extension Center, West Building (4 1/2 mi. west of Clay Center on state spur 18D)

1:15pm: Those wanting to testify sign in.

2-5pm: Open hearing.


Open Video Conference on Veterinary Diagnostic Lab, Family Life Specialist and Learning Center Eliminations

Date: October 11, 2002

Sites: Room 116 L.W. Chase Hall, East Campus, Lincoln

West Central Research and Extension Center, Snyder Building Auditorium, North Platte

12:15pm: Those wanting to testify sign in.

1-4pm: Open hearing.
