Thank You, Best Wishes and Happy Holidays

Holiday Greetings featuring Chancellor Green

To our students, faculty and staff,

I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the incredible work you have done and the persistence you have shown to get to this point – this eve of finals week for fall of 2021. You continue to help us navigate this long-lasting pandemic and what have been especially difficult times — all the while, keeping us focused on our mission.

As we approach the winter holidays, I am filled with gratitude for every Husker in our university community. Your work has led to big things in 2021.

To name just a few:

  • We recently earned one of our largest National Science Foundation research grants in our history to lead a global effort in quantum physics.
  • We opened our new Biosecurity lab in collaboration with the National Strategic Research Institute to safeguard the U.S. food supply.
  • And our students as a whole and our student-athletes as well are setting new records in graduation and academic success.

And we are poised to do even more in 2022 ahead. It is all because of our people and our commitment to each other, where every person and every interaction matters.

So, as we approach finals week, I want to wish you the very best! Enjoy a free cup of coffee in the union, study hard, work hard on those final projects, but get as much rest as you can and pace yourself – I know you will succeed.

That’s what Huskers do.

And when this week is over and grades are completed, and graduation is ahead, I encourage you to find ways to wind down and take care of yourselves. I hope you enjoy a peaceful and joyful holiday season.

Happy Holidays, and Go Big Red!
