Sherri Jones has served as dean of the College of Education and Human Sciences since July 1, 2019.

Prior to serving as dean, Sherri Jones was a professor in and chair of the Department of Special Education and Communication Disorders. She was recognized in 2005 with the college’s New Achiever Award and, in 2008, with the Dean’s Award for Outstanding Research from East Carolina University.

Before she became director of the Barkley Memorial Center, Jones spent nine years at the University of Missouri where she held research and assistant professor positions in the medical school's surgery department, otolaryngology division and was doctoral faculty for its interdisciplinary neuroscience program. She also served eight years as professor of communication sciences and disorders at East Carolina University.

Jones earned her Bachelor of Science in speech pathology and audiology, Master of Science in audiology, and doctorate in psychological and cultural studies with an audiology and hearing science emphasis. All degrees were awarded from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.
