Thank you to all who have participated so far in the Combined Campaign for Health and Human Services.
If you haven’t already, I hope you will consider giving back.
Every dollar you give to the Combined Campaign helps your neighbors get support, stabilize home life and move forward to lead positive, productive lives.
Every dollar helps someone like Maya.
When Maya, a fifth-grade student, started the City Impact Reading Program, she would tell you that she did not like reading. It was hard. And because it was hard, she felt ashamed of her abilities.
Maya found a book during her first semester of book club that resonated with her. Even though she didn't finish it during book club, she went home and read this book on her own. She was so excited to come back to the program to talk about this book and what it meant to her. Maya ended up participating in almost everything the program offered in the City Impact Center — she engaged in over 40 hours of reading support.
At the end of the year, when she was asked if her thoughts on reading had changed, Maya’s exact words were that she didn't know it could actually be fun. She also has said that she learned that she can do hard things.
Your contribution to the Combined Campaign is an investment in the health, education and financial stability of Lincoln. The Combined Campaign is an incredible opportunity to give back and make a difference right here at home.
