With a focus on molecular plant pathology, researchers in the Zeng Lab aim to elucidate and eventually manipulate for crop improvement the key molecular mechanisms that plants use to defend against different biotic stresses. Current work focuses on the role of post-translational modification, particularly the ubiquitin system (UBS), and the underlying mechanistic basis by which it regulates plant immunity.
